Blogger is a free application through Google that let's us easily share our ideas, passions, and other bits of information. It's also a great way to practice writing. These are some steps to take when starting on Blogger.
Step 1: Have Something You Want to Talk About
You may already have something that you are deeply passionate about, or you might want to write about something as a way to learn about it. For example, Mommy Blogs are often written by first time mothers, meaning that they are portraying the experience of learning about their topic day by day. Whatever you do, you should write about something that interests you and will keep you excited to share your writing.
Step 2: Title Your Blog
Once you have decided what your blog will be about. You will need to give your blog a title. Using the Blogger app click "Create a new blog" and you will be taken to the "Create a new blog" prompt. Think of a clever title, then type it in the "Title" entry.
Step 3: Assess Your Audience
Consider your content and imagine what your audience will expect from an expert or explorer in your chosen field. For example, somebody who writes about Gundam models might be expected to have some knowledge of Anime, and may be expected to make some arcane references to that type of entertainment. On the other hand, somebody writing about lowering their cars may want to reconsider making references to Sailor Moon.
Step 3: Include Images in Your Blog
Many blogs benefit from the inclusion of images. Including images helps break up the text and can provide visual context to your document. In order to add images, click on the tiny picture frame as indicated by the arrow above. You may then add images that you have downloaded to your computer or pull an image straight from a URL.
Step 4: Edit Your Blog and Finalize Format
Internet users have a high aesthetic standards when it comes to what they will look at online. Because there are so many well-produced documents on the internet you will want to make sure that your document is written to your highest standards. Additionally, you will want to make sure that your images are well-placed and your text is well formatted. Attention to these details will show that you care about what you are writing and that you are interested in creating an enlightening and entertaining experience for the reader.
Step 5: Interact with Your Audience
Although you have a lot of competition on the internet, you may be able to get the upper hand on larger content producers if you take advantage of the fact that you are an individual writing about something that may not be well-known, and that you have the ability to be a real person to your audience. A reader who finds your work is going to stay engaged with you because you have a topic that interests them and they can get to know you as a person. Respond to comments when appropriate and consider their opinions when producing new content.
