How to change a Flat Tire

Changing a flat can be very helpful when you're all alone in the middle of nowhere, and you have no service what so ever. Also, you'll look more "manly" in front of your buddies if you know how to change a flat tire. Especially for young adults which they love to go clubbing or driving anywhere.

1.) Have a spare tire?

You should always check if you have an extra spare tired located in your trunk or if you have a truck, it would be located in certain areas. So depending on what type of car you have, it will be located on the sides or hanging on the back of the trunk. Having a spare tire is very important to have in your car! So before going out for a drive, please make sure you have an extra spare just in case of an emergency

2.) Have a Jack and a Lug?

To be able to change a flat tire, you'll need two important tools that will help you a lot whenever you come across this type of situation. Which are the Jack (lifts up your car) and the Lug (takes out the nuts that is holding the tire together to your vehicle). The Lug makes it easier for us to take out the lug nuts that are tightly holding the wheel in place so that it won't go nowhere. The Jack is a special tool that lifts up your vehicle, which holds all the weight of your vehicle and makes it easier to remove the flat tire without unbalancing your vehicle, which can tilt over and damage the disk.

3.) How to use the Jack and the Lug

It's very simple when it comes to these two tools. First, you'll have to use the lug to be able to loosen up the lug nuts by turning them counter clockwise until you break their (lug nuts) resistance. The lug nuts are tightly screwed so you'll have to use your foot or your whole body weight to loosen them up. After you have loosen up the lug nuts, you can now roll the jack underneath your vehicle, a good spot for the jack is usually beneath the vehicle frame alongside the tire that's flat. The jack gives you a chance to put the spare one back in place. And use your hands to tighten up the nuts as tight as you can, then bring down your vehicle and tighten the nuts more with the lug.

4.) What to do after?

Once you have finished reading this blog, hopefully you are able to understand how to change a flat tire and to be ready for a situation like this. Make sure that you have an extra spare of tire in your trunk of your vehicle.

  1. There is a lot of repetition because you put "tire" too much try to change it or take some out, Other then that it looks really good. And that is true you do look more manly in front of your buddies if you can change a tire.

  2. From the standpoint of this class, this blog serves the purpose of having you exercise your visual rhetoric and technical writing skills. But, I don't think you made it all the way there. I think one of the hardest things to explain about changing a tire is where to put the jack, and you give only a passing description of how to use it. In reality, people are going to need to learn some principles of using a jack to avoid damaging their car.
